TAGUM CITY—Putting premium in its drive to provide its people the best of social services, the city government of Tagum had strengthened its forces in the 6thinstallment of the Hugpong Serbisyo Para sa Tagumenyos Festival which began last March 11, 2019.
Not new to the locals, thousands of Tagumenyos flocked to their respective school gymnasiums to avail of the various free social and health services offered in the festival.
This year, new services had been added to the lineup including the free measles immunization and foot spa to somehow pamper our working mothers.
With the alarming measles outbreak in the country, the Hugpong Serbisyo Para sa Tagumenyos through the initiative of the City Health Office made the festival an avenue to give infants and children aged 11 months to 4 years the vaccination for such disease.
Other than the measles immunization, polio vaccine and Vitamin A were also offered.
The manpower of this year’s Hugpong Serbisyo Para sa Tagumenyos Festival is further strengthened with the support of Tagum’s butcher volunteers who are happy to give back their service to the community in gratitude for their free butchery training which is one of the city government’s PEESO programs.
Other services included in the Hugpong Serbisyo Para sa Tagumenyos Festival are minor surgery, dental services, circumcision, optical services, random blood sampling, breast examination, papsmear and gramstain, medical consultation, implant for birth control, therapeutic massage, haircut, cosmetology, legal consultation, civil registration, COMELEC services, job matching services and mini job fair, passport requirements assessment, CSWD services, PSA services, scholarship referral, booklet groceries and medicines for senior citizens and PWDs, tribal and Muslim certification, real property tax assessment and inquiry, police clearance, barangay clearance, skills training, veterinary services, anti-rabies dog vaccination, deworming and castration for cats and dogs, among others.
During its run in 2018, a total of 77,522 various services were rendered to Tagumenyos. Organizers say they are expecting to shatter last year’s record, noting the increasing trend of services rendered every year.
The Hugpong Serbisyo Para sa Tagumenyos Festival 2019 runs weekdays from March 11 to 27 and will resume on May 20 to 31, 2019 in all 23 barangays of Tagum.
