You should be here.The ASEAN Scout Association for Regional Cooperation (ASARC), thru the Boy Scouts of the Philippines (BSP), is pleased to announce the holding of the 6TH ASEAN SCOUT JAMBOREE on 27 November – 2 December 2017 at the Energy Park, Apokon, Tagum City, Davao del Norte, Philippines with the theme, “Growth and Stability.”
The Jamboree is expected to have more than 20,000 participants covering all the 121 Local Councils of the BSP, as well as member-countries of the ASEAN and other countries in the Asia-Pacific Region.
Tagum City is the capital city of the province of Davao del Norte, Philippines. The city is part of the Metropolitan Davao area. It is one of top most livable cities in the Philippines, and was one of the finalists in Most Child Friendly City in the Philippines. With its active role in strengthening the scouting movement, the city has positioned itself as a rising star in the scouting world in the Philippines.

Jamboree’s Aim and ObjectivesThe Jamboree aims to provide a progressive, safe and enjoyable learning environment for the Scouts in order to enhance their physical, social, mental, emotional and spiritual potentials. At the end of the Jamboree, the participants should be able to:
1. Promote ASEAN Community and Solidarity;
2. Promote the highest quality of Scouting, one that is faithful to the mission, principles and method of Scouting and adapted to the needs and aspirations of young people;
3. Undertake high-adventure activities, including community service projects related to the current thrusts of World Scouting through the different World Programmes under the Better World Framework.
4. Undergo projects, programs and activities that will cater to the fulfillment of the requirements of selected merit badges and scout ranks under the Advancement Scheme;
5. Develop core life skills and 21st century leadership capabilities through team building, cooperative learning, group dynamics, creative problem-solving and decision-making skills;
6. Keep oneself abreast with the prevailing issues about the environment, human rights, health, education, culture and science and technology through the Global Development Village, City of Science and Cross Roads of Cultures, among others.
Global Development Village
GDV addresses global issues facing our planet. The programme is designed to develop life skills of young people, enabling principles to improve the quality of life in the community, sustainable livelihood, healthier population, clean environment and equitable society. GDV seeks to motivate young people to take appropriate actions through series of inter-active workshops, team games, exhibition and displays, lecture and demonstration and small group discussions about UN-MDGs.
Challenge Valley and Adventure Trail is an exciting journey coupled with series of obstacle courses that will test Scouts’ physical strength, flexibility, body core, agility, balance, coordination and stamina. To overcome these challenges, Scouts in Patrols and Crews are expected to think, plan and strategize their approaches in each of the obstacle.
Faith And Belief
This module offers a series of spiritual and socio-cultural activities for both young people and adults. The module aims to provide an avenue for Duty to God, as the first and foremost duty of Scout. Likewise, the module offers various cultural exchanges from Luzon, Visayas and Mindanao. The module aims to promote cultural exchanges among all local councils within the participating regions.
Jungle Adventure Trail
Adventure Trail offers a series of Wood Craft Skills inside the Madaum Forest. This includes Scouts skills and knowledge about their natural environment and natural resources. It covers wide variety of outdoor interests including wide life in natural habitat, soil and water conservation, weather and ecology. The trail includes study of plant and animal life in the outdoors, axemanship, tracking, stalking, observation, maps and compass reading. They will learn jungle survival skills including improvised shelters, finding directions while exploring nature.
Aquatics and Water Fun
A Scout Jamboree is not complete without Aquatics and Water Fun. This module includes a special Water Challenge Activities that offers a series of fun and exciting games and water activities for Boy and Senior Scouts. It offers the Safe Swim Defense Plan for beginners, basic swimming lessons, basic and elementary approaches to a drowning person and how to improvised floatation devices in cases of extreme needs. The module aims to provide safe, challenging and funfilled activities in the water to complete the requirement in the Swimming and Lifesaving Merit Badges.
This module offers basic knowledge and skills on Mountaineering including the principles of “Leave No Trace” for Scouts to become responsible in their outdoor manners and ethics. Scouts experienced various campcraft activities related to backwoods engineering, ropework and camp cookery. The module aims to teach Scouts to become conservation minded in their manners towards outdoor, nature and environment. It further tests and challenge Scouts’ skills on Campcraft and be able to develop their ability to become resourceful, creative and self-reliance.
DRRM Emergency Preparedness
The Scout Jamboree offers basic information about the Disaster Risk Reduction Management framework and how Scouts can help in the Mitigation, Preparedness, Response and Rehabilitation aspects of the DRRM framework in their home, school and community. The module aims equip Scouts with the rudiments of Disaster Risk Reduction Management System and be able to help in their home, school and community in times of calamities and disasters.
ASEAN Better World Village
This component of the Scout Jamboree aims to develop initiatives, resources and opportunities for children and young people to learn, get involved and make a difference. This is gateway for the participating scouts to participate in educational activities and initiatives of the ASEAN.
Crossroads Of Culture
The ASEAN Jamboree is a distinct avenue to showcase the rich culture and tradition of all member countries of the ASEAN. Under the Crossroads of Culture module, scouts will be able to learn, as well as to showcase, their respective culture and tradition as a way of promoting understanding and brotherhood in the ASEAN community
The heart of the Jamboree is civic action. As responsible Scouts, participants will be able to immerse themselves in various community service activities across the City of Tagum, leaving their imprint to the local community as it journeys to further development.
As in any other Jamboree experience, the Energy Park will also transform into a large playground through the native games component of the ASEAN Jamboree. Here, scouts will be able to engage themselves in a series of friendly competitions aimed at fostering friendship and cultivating sportsmanship among them.
Center of Fun and Adventure
Get into the core of the action right at Energy Park, the main venue of the 6th ASEAN Scout Jamboree. The Energy Park offers a perfect Jamboree experience for Scouts as its scenic landscape and spacious lawn is a multi-use complex that houses several activity and camping areas needed for the hosting of any large scouting events. Recently, it has become the home of more than 20,000 scouts gathered during the 16th Philippine National Scout Jamboree in 2015. The Energy Park was once an idle and reserved land developed by the City Government of Tagum to become a social development complex as well as a public recreation park.
