Central Fire Station to rise in Tagum

TAGUM CITY– The Bureau of Fire Protection’s (BFP) Tagum City Fire Station will soon have a central fire station in the locality on the occasion of the ground breaking ceremony held Monday, June 16, 2019.

The 19.4 million-peso worth fire station is being funded by the national office of the BFP and will be constructed on an allocated 1,773 square meter- area within a 4,800 square meter lot owned by the City Government of Tagum located in Barangay Canocotan.

The use of the collective area for the city’s fire station was offered by the LGU to the BFP via a usufruct for 25 years, conditioned upon the site’s exclusive use for a Tagum Central Station.

The terms and conditions set forth in the usufruct provide that the LGU will be the one to introduce as well as maintain proper infrastructures, facilities and improvements for the proposed fire station to become sustainable and viable.

On the other hand, the BFP is also given leave to construct vertical structures on the site of the Tagum Central Fire Station provided that it is properly coordinated with the LGU which retains ownership and title of the site.

The city’s BFP has stated that the construction of the structures in the central station which are necessary for the proper and beneficial use of the Tagum constituency will commence as soon as logistics from the Regional Office of the BFP will make it possible, with the construction phase falling within a six-month time frame.

The ceremony was spearheaded by City Mayor Allan Rellon, and was witnessed by the city officials and employees, as well as BFP-XI Regional Director Fred L. Trajeras, Jr., Provincial Fire Marshal Alex Pamaybay and City Fire Marshal Donald Concepcion. Richi Gulle/CIO-Tagum
