Tagum City – Mega infrastructure projects are on the roll as the City Government of Tagum braces itself for a series of back to back blessings and inaugurations from October 23-26, 2018.
The series started last October 23 with the turn-over ceremony of the covered court intended for the inmates of the Tagum Ciy Jail Compound which will be used as an additional facility for their physical fitness activities. The ceremony was in time for the celebration of the National Correctional Consciousness Week.
On the same day, 2 million peso-worth of concreted and asphalted roads were blessed and inaugurated by Mayor Allan Rellon together with the city officials. The two roads are located in Brgy. San Isidro — one of the coastal barangays of Tagum. These projects consisted of asphalted roads in Makabayan Village Phase II worth 900,000 pesos and concreted roads in Purok Panitan worth 1,000,000 pesos.
Mayor Rellon and the city officials moved to the north on the following day, October 24. Assisted by the barangay functionaries, the officials spearheaded the blessing and inauguration of more than 1 million-peso infra projects in Brgy. Magdum. This consisted of the concreting of alley in between of PCU and Lao property worth 120,000 pesos, concreting of road in Prk. 10 amounting to 1,000,000 pesos, and concreting of road worth 200,000 pesos still in Prk. 10.
Last October 25, the city continued the ceremonies to the nearby barangay of Apokon with a total of 660,000 pesos worth of concreting of alley and road in Prk. 3-B Sto. Rosario and Prk. 6-A Villa Consuelo respectively.
In Brgy. Mankilam, the city poured millions of projects under the development fund of the city. These were the rehabilitation/construction of drainage w/o cover worth almost 1.5 million pesos in Prk. Gulayan, 4,000,000 pesos worth of drainage box culvert (1 barrel w/ wingwall) in Prk. Aala, Capitol Road, and concreting of road in Prk. Abaca cor. Prk. Bautitsta worth 500,000 pesos.
The series ended with the blessing and inauguration of the water system submersible pump worth 142,000 pesos in Prk. 14, barangay San Miguel.
