LGU-funded Infra Projects bolster quality education in Tagum

TAGUM CITY—Bolstering the Education sector, the local government blessed and inaugurated multi-million infrastructure projects in three different days at three educational institution of Tagum at Liboganon, Canocotan, and Bincungan—all done in the month of June.

A budget of Php 2, 000, 000 was subsidized for the Fish Processing Center at Liboganon Integrated School to be used by the Senior High School students. Another Php 1.5 million was used for the Computer Laboratory of the Senior High School and ALS learners at Canocotan National High School. For a new school building at Babangan Elementary School, Barangay Bincungan, Php 1, 000, 000 was utilized. The said projects were blessed and inaugurated last June 14, 21, and 26 respectively.

This big time infra-project of the LGU was a promise made by Mayor Allan L. Rellon and according to him, the City Government of Tagum will do its best to help in providing the things the schools need. The local chief executive said that being a teacher by profession, education is his priority for the future of the children and of the society.

The locals of the said barangays were very grateful to the mayor and to the LGU as well.

Arnel G. Cabalan, the Principal of Canocotan National High School, said that they are very thankful to the local government of Tagum for giving them a great solution to the problems of the school by giving them building that will be used as computer laboratory to brighten the future of their children.

Furthermore, Marivic S. Yaon, a newly elected Brgy. Kagawad of Barangay Bincungan, heartily extended her appreciation. According to her, they are blessed for the government of Tagum is pouring great efforts for the improvement and development of their school.

“In behalf of DepEd, I’m so very glad, happy, [and we] appreciate this support that the LGU of Tagum has extended to the learners of Liboganon Integrated School. This facility as funded by the special education fund with the leadership of Mayor Allan Rellon is really beneficial for the Senior High school learners specializing [in] food processing. We are very much grateful to the LGU Tagum”, DepEd Tagum City Schools Division Superintendent Nelson Lopez expressed in an interview.
