LGU Tagum grants 48 households lot ownership

Tagum City—48 households benefited and received the notice of awards granted by the local government of Tagum last August 31, 2018 which gave the beneficiaries the assurance of having housing lots which they can be called their own.

In accordance with the thrust of the LGU for an inclusive growth among its citizenry, the newly instituted department, City Housing and Land Management Office (CHLMO), made the necessary efforts to confer the notice of awards to the members of Purok Daisy Urban Poor Settlers Homeowners Association (PDUPSHA) which sum up to 48 households in Brgy. Bincungan, Tagum City.

The said project of local government unit, implemented under the CHLMO, lifted up the spirits of the residents who were always threatened by the menace of flood and high tide, as stated by Manuel P. Nambatac, the president of the homeowners association.

Overwhelming gratitude also filled the atmosphere as Merlisa Gomez, one of the board of directors of the PDUPSHA, conveyed her message in an interview.

“Pasalamat jud ko ug dako kay Mayor Rellon og sa LGU kay nakita jud nila kung unsa ang among panginahanglan dri sa among purok” [My fervent thanks to Mayor Rellon as well as to the LGU for they have seen what we really need]. That is according to Aldrin Latasa, the vice-president of the homeowners.

To outstrip the run-of-the-mill extension of housing services, the Tagum City’s HLMO plans to partner with City Agriculture’s Office (CAGRO), and the Public Education and Employment Office (PEESO) for providing livelihood programs and skills training such as crab production and dressmaking for the beneficiaries.

Present in the awarding were the local chief executive, Mayor Allan Rellon and some honourable members of the 7th City Council such as Councilor Ronald Eliot, Councilor Agripino Coquilla, Councilor Joedel Caasi, and Councilor Macario Bermudez who expressed their heartfelt joy for the beneficiaries and extended a promise to provide additional help for them.

The said beneficiaries are expected to start building their houses within 3 months. JP Cordovero/CIO Tagum
