Tagum City — 506 first level security personnel in every barangay in Tagum City were given uniforms to strengthen their morale of performing their duty to maintain peace and order in their respective communities during this pandemic.
The barangay captain, peace and order committee chairman, and 20 barangay Tanods of every barangay were the ones given with the uniform.
Pegged at 216,000 pesos, the City Mayor’s Office funded the program to strengthen the visibility of the peacekeepers in the community to deter the occurrence of crimes and unlawful acts.
In partnership with the PNP-Tagum and PNP Special Action Force (SAF), the Tanods were also trained on how to deal with people committing crimes and were lectured on how to properly execute citizen’s arrest as members of the force multipliers.
The distribution started last October 27 until November 3, led by Mayor Allan L. Rellon together with Vice Mayor Eva Lorraine Estabillo, the members of the 8th City Council, Officer-in-charge of PNP-Tagum PCPT Anjenette Tirador, and PNP-SAF PLT Rackie Bautista.
Under the program called Ronda Tanod of Councilor Renante Suaybaguio Robles as the committee chairman on Peace and Order, the initiative is in accordance to the developmental agenda of Mayor Rellon dubbed as EAGLE WINGS specifically on the first G which stands for Genuine Peace, Safety and Security.
