PNP Tagum scores victory in various anti-drugs ops

TAGUM CITY – Following its announcement of five drug-cleared barangays in Tagum,  the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) Region XI, in coordination with the Tagum City Police, the Regional Police Drug Enforcement Unit (RPDEU) XI and the Regional Mobile Force Battalion (RMFB) XI, conducted numerous drug-related operations in the city last week.

Five drug personalities namely, Richard Cagas Harding, Ryan Daguing Peras, Leonardo Babida Boquis, Macky Labastida, and Leo Morata  were arrested on August 5, 2019 after having been served with search warrants. Morata, who fired his gun towards the raiding team, got wounded but was treated immediately at the nearest hospital.

A total of 17 small-sized heat-sealed plastic sachets, and 2-piece medium sized sachets  containing what looked like shabu with an estimated street value of Php 90 thousand were recovered from all five suspects, including five plastic containers, one eyeglass container. A calibre .45 pistol with four live ammunitions, 16 rounds of live ammunition for calibre .22, one fired cartridge case of calibre 5.56 and calibre .45 each were also retrieved from the five apprehended persons.

Meanwhile, an anti-illegal drug operation conducted on August 7, 2019 against Gobert Padoran and Jemar Tuyac in Madaum led to the arrest of the two who were found to have been in possession of one heat-sealed sachet of suspected shabu which was a subject of a sale, five open sachets with traces of suspected shabu residue, and the Php 1000 marked money. All the items found during the operation were confiscated by the team who were jointly led by PEMS Breccio Algabre and PLTCOL Philip Jefferson Ayban.

The following day, another operation against illegal drugs was conducted in front of Robinson’s Place in Visayan Village which resulted in the arrest of Jiavanne Biay Atinta, Eunice Grace Aballe Carpizo, and Jason Ytac Canaguan who sold to the team six pieces of heat sealed transparent cellophane containing what looked like shabu. The DEU personnel of the Tagum City Police bought from the suspects the confiscated dangerous drugs with a value of more or less Php 6000 using 12-piece 500 peso bills as buy bust money.

All the arrested persons in the three separate anti-illegal drug operations were endorsed to the Tagum PNP who are expected to file a case for violation of RA 9165.

Meanwhile, the police force of the city also upped its Oplan Kalinaw operation against the illegal gambling activities in Tagum on the same week, managing to seize Hantak in Canocotan and four video karera machines in Madaum.  Various paraphernalia used for illegal numbers games were also confiscated in Apokon from the possession of Armando Gura, Luz Licayan, Maebelyn Gura, Cristy Nikka Dumanhug and Christine Joyce Dumanhug , all of whom were arrested by the police.

A buy-bust operation was conducted by the police in coordination with PDEA last August 07, 2019. A case for Violation of Secs. 5 and 12 of RA 9165 were being readied for filing in court against the suspect. The seized illegal drugs had an estimated value of more or less One Thousand Pesos (Php 1, 000.00). PNP Tagum

 

A buy-bust operation was conducted at national highway fronting Robinson’s mall last August 9, 2019. The confiscated dangerous drugs had a value of more or less Six Thousand Pesos (Php 6,000.00) and three (3) suspects are currently detained for appropriate legal action at the police station. PNP Tagum

 

PNP Personnel of Tagum CPS together with the 1102nd Maneuver Company RMFB 11 Team jointly conducted Anti-Illegal Gambling operation particularly on illegal number games within the city which resulted to the arrest of five (5) personalities last August 10, 2019.  PNP Tagum
