Tagum City – The entire City Government of Tagum, along with its people, welcomes back the newly inaugurated City Mayor Rey T. Uy during the Hugpong Ng Pagbabago (HNP) Oathtaking Ceremony of Davao del Norte and Tagum City elected officials held last June 23, 2022, at the Tagum City Hall Atrium.
Leading the induction of Tagum City Mayor-elect Rey Uy was Hon. Roberto Isaal of Barangay Cuambogan. Also present at the event was the new set of elected officials of the Province of Davao del Norte – Vice Governor De Carlo “Oyo” Uy; Congressman Allan Dujali; Board Members, Hon. Robert “Tete” So and Hon. Shirley Belen Aala; and elected councilors of Tagum City, Hon. Ester Angoy, Hon. Leo Revita, Hon. Rex Jasper Aala, Hon. Agripino “Jun” Coquilla, Hon. Joedel Caasi, Hon. Meliton “Boy” Lemos, and Hon. Lou Suaybaguio.
Mayor-elect Rey Uy, in his message to the people of Tagum, assured the public that the administration under his leadership will not waste the trust they have given him and thanked the people for once again believing in him. “Nothing changed in me, inyo gihapon kong amahan”, he furthered upon seeing the hundreds of Tagumenyos in the atrium who were present to witness and support the officials as they take their oath of office.
Also included in his message was his checklist for his first 100 days as the Local Chief Executive, emphasizing that all projects and programs are all set, along with the partnered government offices and agencies, for the incoming administration under his leadership. The plans and programs set are all in favor of the people and are parallel to the common vision of having a better and greater Tagum City.
Mayor Uy ended his speech with a reminder to his co-elected officials, “ayaw ibutang ang atong position sa atong ulo, diri (by heart) nato ibutang.” Kylyn Carpio/CIO Tagum
