Tagum City – Education proved to be indeed on the top tier of the city’s developmental thrust when the City Government of Tagum blessed and inaugurated medium-rise school buildings last January 17 and 22, 2019, respectively — both of which amounted to more than 41 million pesos pooled through the funds from the Department of Education, and implemented by the Department of Public Works and Highways in coordination with the City Government of Tagum.
Mayor Allan Rellon led the cutting of ribbon of the three-storey school building in Pandapan Integrated School with 12 classrooms, along with Deped Tagum City Division Superintendent Nelson Lopez and the administration, faculty and staff of the said school. The12-classroom project amounted to a whopping 31,456,370.00 pesos.
On the other hand, another school building in Col. Rosalio C. Saludares Elementary School in Barangay Magdum was likewise blessed. It is a three-storey building with six classrooms, with a total cost of 15,000,000.00 pesos.
Tagumenyo students are expected to have a more conducive learning experience that is reflected not just on the beautification of the schools but through ensuring public safety around the learning areas everywhere in the city.
Meanwhile, the LGU blessed 50 units street led lights worth 2.1 million pesos situated along the national highway in the Barangay Pandapan area on the same day. This is part of the Kahayag Kahapsay project of the city that aims to light up all areas as a deterrence initiative against criminality.
These projects are in partnership with the Department of Public Works and Highways in parallel to the Build Build Build campaign of the current administration. Ziyarah Manalo/CIO Tagum
