Tagum City—14 drug personalities were nabbed which was a product of three different operations made by the Tagum City Police Station (TCPS) officers in coordination with the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) Regional Office XI in the month of February.
The first streak of drug buy bust operation was conducted last February 12 at about 12 noon at Sitio Bacuring, Brgy. Madaum which resulted to the arrest of four alleged drug identities namely: Jamari Mendoza Colas, a 25 year-old single, jobless and a resident of Prk 4, Brgy Madaum; Edsel Ollega Mabitad, 23 years old, single, and jobless resident of Esmeralda Homes, Brgy. Apokon; a 20 year-old Saifollah Mudat Aremao jobless resident of Prk 3, Brgy Madaum; and Jay P Mariano, 31 years old, married and jobless resident of Prk 7, Salvacion, Panabo City.
The men in uniform dispatched for this operation led by PSI Eduardo J Corpuz of the Drug Enforcement Unit (DEU) under the direct supervision of TCPS officer-in-charge PSUPT Philip Jefferson S Ayban with PDEA’s coordination number ROXI 30004-022019-0114 were able to recover a reported stolen blue Suzuki Raider Motorcycle bearing plate number LE 19540, engine number G427261127 and chassis number BG41H508093.
12 pieces heat sealed transparent cellophane containing white crystalline substance believed to be methamphetamine hydrochloride commonly known as “shabu” were bought from the subjects. Another four pieces of heat sealed transparent cellophane containing a substance believed to be “shabu” and the buy bust money were seized from the possession of the persons arrested. The confiscated dangerous drugs had a value of more or less Twenty thousand Pesos (Php 20,000.00).
Later that night, the same team conducted another buy bust operation in the same area with PDEA’s coordination number ROXI 30004-022019-0124 and was able to apprehend one, Alvin Ansan Avellanosa who is 29 year-old, married, laborer, and a resident of Purok Santol, Malinawon, Barangay La Filipina, Tagum City which led to the discovery of a drug den in Sitio Bacuring and resulted to the arrest of other seven drug personalities, to wit: Joemar Pancho Fuentes a 21 year-old, single and labourer who resides at Purok Ilocandia, Barangay Mankilam, Tagum City; Reynaldo Balinas Barrientos a 45 year-old, married man, banana plantation worker and a resident of Purok-2, Barangay Anibongan, Carmen; John Paul Aquino Sevellita who is a 20 year-old single, student, and a resident of Purok 7, CESAT, Barangay Kinoban, Maco, Comval Province; Arnel Perez Roilo, 29 years old, single, and jobless resident of Purok 3, CESAT, Barangay Kinoban, Maco, Comval Province; Julius Leyesa Borja, 26 years old, single and a carpenter who resides at Purok Orange Valley, Barangay South, Tagum City; Ali Cudarat Madani a 30 year-old, single, carpenter and a resident of Purok Orange Valley, Barangay South, Tagum City; and one Wilfredo Roluna Lasaca Jr., 29-year old, single, jobless resident of Purok 12B, Cali-an, Maniki, Kapalong, Davao Del Norte.
The lawful elements were able to buy five pieces heat-sealed transparent cellophane containing white crystalline substance believed to be “shabu” from Avellanosa and Fuentes and got hold of three open sachets which had traces of suspected “shabu” residue from the other mentioned individuals.
Policemen were also able to confiscate from the suspects’ possessions two pieces Aluminum strips, two pieces Rolled aluminum foils, two pieces heat-sealed transparent cellophane containing alleged “shabu”, two pieces disposable lighters colored green and blue and two pieces disposable lighters attached with aluminum needle colored green and violet.
The last buy bust operation was conducted last February 23 around 9:15 in the evening by the joint forces made by the TCPS-DEU led by PSI Eduardo J Corpuz under the direct supervision of TCPS officer-in-charge PSUPT Philip Jefferson S Ayban and the PDEA-ROXI Davao del Norte Provincial Office headed by Clodito V Cañada at Purok 14, Brgy. Madaum, Tagum City.
Two drug personalities named Pedro Meranda Arimao, 57 years old, married, and jobless and Sherwin Danao Apila, 29 years old, single, and jobless were caught red-handedly. The team was able to buy from the suspects one heat sealed transparent plastic cellophane containing the alleged “shabu” weighing more or less one gram using one piece of One thousand peso bill with serial number NN542467 and nine (9) pieces resemblance of 1000 peso bills.
Another one sachet of transparent plastic sachet containing suspected shabu weighing more or less 11 grams with an estimated market value of Php 88,000.00, five open sachets containing traces of shabu, two aluminum totter, three aluminum strips, two disposable lighter, one scissor, one bamboo clip and the buy bust money were clutched from the subjects.
The above-mentioned drug personalities are facing charges for violation of RA 9165 or the Dangerous Drugs Act before the court and are now detained at the Tagum City detention cell.
These continued police operations in the city against these individuals related to illegal drug trade are still in line with the developmental thrust of Rellon’s administration dubbed as EAGLE WINGS specifically the first letter “G” which stands for Genuine Peace, Safety, and Security in support with the national government’s campaign for a drug-free country.
