Tagum City ready for the National Flag Days celebration

The City of Tagum, through the City Historical, Cultural and Arts Council, joins the whole nation in the observance of the National Flag Days celebration with the display of Philippine flags along its major thoroughfares and at the City Hall starting on May 28 and will last until June 12 in time for the celebration of the 120th Philippine Independence Day.

The National Flag Days is celebrated to commemorate the waving of the tricolor in Cavite City by Gen. Emilio Aguinaldo to mark the victory of Filipinos in the Battle of Alapan in Imus, Cavite.

Meanwhile, the city government will culminate the National Flag Days with a flag raising ceremony, a commemorative program, a flag disposal ceremony and a Job Fair which is anchored on the theme “Pagbabago Ipinaglaban, Alay sa Masaganang Kinabukasan,” on June 12 to be held at the City Hall Atrium starting at 6:30 in the morning.

House Speaker Pantaleon Alvarez is expected to be the guest of honor and speaker during the event. Edwin Lasquite/CIO Tagum
